HELLO HACKER is a story-driven terminal hacking simulation that puts players in the role of a digital investigator uncovering a deadly government conspiracy.
When colleague Alex Chen disappears while investigating PROJECT NIGHTFALL, players must follow his digital trail through corporate networks and classified government systems. Using authentic hacking tools like password cracking, network scanning, SSH exploitation, and file decryption, players piece together evidence of 23 assassinations carried out to protect a mass surveillance program.
Built entirely in Rust, the game features a realistic command-line interface with over 20 authentic terminal commands, complex multi-stage puzzles involving Base64 decoding, hex encoding, ROT13 ciphers, and git forensics. Players navigate 12 interconnected systems, each with unique security challenges and narrative revelations.
H3LL0H4CK3R appeals to both technical audiences who appreciate realistic hacking mechanics and puzzle enthusiasts drawn to its intricate, interconnected challenge design. The game respects players' intelligence, requiring note-taking and careful attention to detail while providing an optional hint system for those who need guidance.
Story
Your colleague Alex Chen has vanished without a trace. His final encrypted message reveals he was investigating PROJECT NIGHTFALL—a classified mass surveillance program with a body count.
Starting from Alex's localhost machine, you discover his investigation uncovered something far darker: 23 assassinations ordered to silence whistleblowers, journalists, and activists who threatened to expose the program. Each victim meticulously documented, each death made to look like an accident.
As you infiltrate corporate servers, penetrate government networks, and decrypt classified files, you realize Alex didn't just disappear—he was taken. The same shadow operatives who eliminated the other 23 are now watching your every move.
The evidence Alex compiled is your only weapon. Scattered across multiple secured systems, protected by layers of encryption and authentication, it documents the full scope of PROJECT NIGHTFALL's crimes. Your mission: gather all the evidence, archive it securely, and upload it to the dark web before you become victim number 24.
Time is running out. They know you're looking. And they're coming.
